I was browsing youtube.com the other night when I came across a cool video of some guy from Scotland on a BMX, doing tricks all around Glasgow. The video of this guy was really interesting, but the song that was in the background was even better.

I noticed at the bottom of the video screen that there was pop-up message from itunes.com telling me to “Purchase Song Now”. I decided why not, after a few clicks the song was mine and 0.99 cent was being extracted from my bank balance.

“Landing pages really do work!”

It was only on reflection, after I got the receipt of my purchase to my mail account that I realised what had actual happened. Practically every video on youtube is now a landing page with pop-up adverts and messages telling users to purchase their products.

So you see even an internet expert like me can be sucked into a good landing page!
