JumpStart Marketing are currently on a quest to help local Nenagh businesses expand their revenue streams by availing of marketing over the internet. Graham O’Keeffe and Shane Scully founders of JumpStart explain “Due to the recession local businesses are finding it tougher to survive, so the logical approach to take is to expand your catchment area. Where local advertising is restricted to your locality, the Internet offers the flexibility to advertise throughout Ireland, Europe and the Globe if necessary, depending on what type of business you are trying to develop.”

Five years ago, a website was nice to have for small to medium sized businesses. These websites were mainly cosmetic and didn’t generate any new leads for your business. This has all changed. Fuelled by the expansion of broadband throughout Ireland, the country now has over 2.5 million Internet users. Comreg statistics show that 59% of Irish households have broadband. In today’s world it is essential not only to have a business website, but also to have it optimised so that people can actually find it when they search on Google.

Graham explains “This is an area where we come into our own; we ensure each website we develop is fully optimised so we can give it the best chance of attaining top search engine rankings for a wide variety of search terms. Top rankings on Google are worth millions to some companies. We have both worked closely on the web over the last 10 years so we understand what works and what doesn’t. For example we have recently worked with Richard Burke from richardburkedesign.com.”

Richard explains: “As the construction industry took a nose dive so did everything associated with it. Before the recession hit, all my business came from the locality and through word of mouth. Like everyone else, work was easy to come by, but now the landscape has changed so I had to rethink my business model.”
“I set up a meeting with JumpStart and they explained that I needed to expand my advertising from the locality to the rest of Ireland. JumpStart designed, developed and optimised my site, so now I appear on the first page of Google for keywords such as “Traditional Kitchen Design” and “Classic Kitchen Design”. I am now designing kitchens for clients in Dublin, Kerry, Sligo and Galway, locations that were not available to me before I started advertising on the web, this is all down to the expertise of JumpStart and what I call the magic of the web!”

Other local companies that have benefited from embracing the Internet and expanding their target market include Eamon Hartnett’s coving business. Eamon’s coving business serviced mainly the Tipperary region. Now Eamon ranks highly in Google for many important coving search terms and he has business all over the country. Visit his website at www.coving.ie. Ruth Spillane’s BER certificate business has also benefited from embracing Internet marketing. Her www.getabercert.ie website is viewed everyday by people all over the country and her BER business is going strong.
