Top performing BER website for sale or rent.

www.getabercert.ie

This website is well established and brings in a sizable annual income for the current website owner. The current owner is taking a year out to travel the world so the website is available now to buy or rent.

The website is worth €5000 due to the web design and marketing work put into it and due to the return on investment that is possible.

Buy - The website is being sold for €1500.

Rent - There is also the option of renting the website for €75 a month. I will set-up the website for you and help you with marketing for the year. This marketing work is included in the rental price so you are more or less getting that for free!

If you are a BER assessor and you want to source a lot more BER work in 2011 then contact me via

email at shane@jumpstartmarketing.ie

phone at (087) 2605743.

The website appears highly on Google.ie for many different keywords. You can expect hundreds of visitors to the site each month. If you renting the site then the visitor numbers and rankings are likely to increase as more work will be performed throughout the year.

This is a trusted website online with a decent PR so there is a good opportunity for marketeers to turn it into a directory site if they wanted. Actually, if this site doesn’t sell in the next few weeks I think I will change it into a directory site myself!

Dealing with existing and new clients on a daily basis, can be very interesting indeed. You really get to find out what people are looking for, and how we can improve our own business model to help our clients improve their businesses.

How do we update our website?

One of the most frequently asked questions I hear from new and existing clients is “How do we update our website”. This can be a very daunting task for a lot of people who are not IT savvy, and it can even be very daunting for people who are competent PC users. There is no simple answer for this question, as it all depends on how the website was created in the first place.

Web maintenance is a very important aspect of having your own web presence, as websites need to change constantly. You might need to update your website with new prices for goods on sale, for special offers coming in or latest news you want to share with your customers.

Lets breakdown web development into two basic forms:

Website’s developed with raw source files (html, php, css, asp etc)

Websites developed with a Content Management System (CMS)

CMS Vs Non CMS

The most common form of web development we come across are sites developed from non CMS’s where the developer either hand codes all of the files or uses a web development tool such as Dreamweaver of Wordpress. If you are left in this situation it can be very difficult to update your website without basic knowledge of at least HTML/CSS/PHP or any other scripting language that is used.

Most people will not even attempt to update their website, hence the reason why so many sites are left static. Just a reminder Google hates sites that never change, so even if you have managed to achieve a high Google ranking, without fresh content you may aswell forget that good ranking now.

Keep Your Website Updated

Remember updating your website on a regular basis has a number of fantastic benefits. People visiting your site know that your business is still alive and kicking; Google appreciates your fresh content and rewards you for this with improved rankings. If you have a new product or special offer, why not tell people about it! If you are not IT savvy but you still want to be able to update your own site, you really should consider getting it developed using a CMS such as Wordpress or Joomula, both are great CMS’s that will allow you the flexibility to update your website on the fly.

Think of CMS as a Fancy Facebook Account

My feeling on CMS systems is that if you are able to manage your own Facebook account then you should be more than capable of updating your own website through your CMS. When you are intially getting your website developed make sure that you get some training included in the overall package, so you will have a good idea where everything is. Once you have updated your site one or two times it’s a piece of cake. CMS’s may be a little more expensive at the development stage, but the long term pay off it well worth it, and you won’t have to rely on anyone else.

JumpStartWebMaintenance.ie

On the other hand, what are your options if your website is not built using a CMS and you don’t want to learn html? Well basically you’re going to have to rely on the person or company that built your site. The problem with this is time, if you’re like me and you like to get things done ASAP, waiting around for these updates to be performed is not an option, and more often than not they take forever as they are seen as a hindrance for most companies as they know they don’t make much money from it.

Due to this on-going problem, we decided at JumpStart Innovations that it was about time we did something about this. We have developed a solution to help anyone update their site within a 24 hour period – guaranteed. Our solution is called JumpStart Web Maintenance. Our new website is aimed at any business that requires rapid updates at a very low cost.
At JumpStart we continually develop new websites for up and coming businesses throughout Ireland and abroad. Quite simply having a website is not just a nice to have anymore; it’s an essential aspect of the whole marketing process. One of the first questions I usually get asked is “I want a new website for my business where should I start?” I think many people get overwhelmed with the thought of having to get a website designed for their new or existing business, especially if they are not savvy with the web and the latest technologies out there.

A Great Starting Point

When I talk to clients about their expectations, and I get an understanding of what exactly they are looking for, I always begin the design process with logo development. In my opinion a strong logo is essential to any business and it also provides a great starting point for the overall web design. Working with start-ups always seems to be easier than working with existing companies, the reason being the start-ups start on a blank canvas where existing businesses already have a look and feel they have grown accustomed to.

For some reason existing companies are reluctant to change, and this more so with revamping their logo, I find it hard to accept that a company will invest thousands in a new website but will not entertain having their logo re-touched. The logo doesn’t have to change dramatically but a tweak here and there wouldn’t hurt at all. Consider Apple, Coca-Cola, TodayFM they have no problem tweaking their logos from time to time!

Ok rant over so where was I? Oh yes a good logo can dictate how your entire web presence can feel. There are three main aspects to developing a striking logo.

The Name

The Colors

The Tagline

The Name

When choosing a name for your business we always recommend having the keyword for your business in the name. For example if you run a dog walking service instead of calling it something clever like “Canine Canter” call it “Bob’s Dog Walking Service”. I know what you’re thinking the first name is slicker, but the second name actually describes in detail what your service does and it will work far better when you purchase a domain name. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is an integral part of the overall process of web marketing and having keywords in your domain name will help you get a high ranking on Google (If you require SEO services click here to contact us now).

The Colors

Without going into too much detail on what each color means, remember when you choose a logo, these colors will also be used as a palette for your website. It’s recommended that you use no more than three or four main colors on your website in total, anything above that becomes confusing to the person viewing your website. If you use blue and gold in your logo, expect to see those colors feature heavily in the web design.

The Tagline

It’s an overlooked aspect of logo development, but if your company name does not describe what your company actually does then a good tagline is the perfect place to describe what you do to potential clients. If you’re an established brand like BMW or Snapple then people already know what you do or what you offer, but for new start-ups I believe an informative tagline will really help you develop a brand. Who can forget tagline like:

Don’t leave home without it. – American Express

Just do it. – Nike

Think different. – Apple Computer

The original cider – Bulmers

Tastes great, less filling. – Miller Lite

Conclusion

So there you go, a striking logo can really help with the overall web design process of your site. Remember the key points when choosing your logo, Name, Colors and Tagline. At JumpStart we are well versed in logo development, we know what looks good and what will work well on your site.
